LIBRARY

Welcome to COTR Theological Seminary Library.

“Empowering Academic Research and Theological Formation”

The COTR Theological Seminary Library stands as a living testament to the vision of our founder, the Late Apostle Dr. P.J. Titus, who dreamed of establishing a top-notch research and learning center dedicated to theological excellence. Today, this vision is realized in a library that serves the academic and spiritual needs of Doctoral, Postgraduate, Graduate, Bachelor’s, and Diploma-level theological students in the institution.

As the driving force of academic research at the institution, the COTR Theological Seminary Library serves as a cornerstone of learning and spiritual formation. Rooted in the vision of   Dr. P.J. Titus, the library has grown from humble beginnings to become a premier center for theological education in India.

Today, the COTRTS Library holds over 40,000 volumes in print and continues to grow, adding hundreds of new titles annually. The library offers an extensive collection focused on Biblical exegesis, theology, missions, and Church History-related subjects. In addition to books, our periodical archives feature scholarly articles on church history, missions, theology, archaeology, and Biblical studies. It also subscribes to numerous national and international journals, with back issues available for research and reference.

Special Collections and Resources

  • A significant portion of the collection includes rare and highly prized volumes.
  • The library is privileged to house Siga Arles’ Personal Library for mission students.
  • The Library collection also includes non-print materials such as Audio//video Tapes, CD-ROMs, and other multimedia resources.

Electronic Resources & Digital Access

  • The COTRTS Library subscribes to major full-text electronic databases, accessible on campus using personalized credentials.
  • Students and faculty benefit from digital access to a wealth of theological literature, including:

o E-journals

o E-books

o Institutional e-library

o Bible study tools, including Commentaries, Concordances, Lexicons, and Atlases

Library Automation & Technology

  • The library uses KOHA, an internationally adopted Integrated Library System (ILS). The Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is accessible from anywhere.
  • High-speed Wi-Fi access is available throughout the library for student research.

Library Networks & Collaborations

  • The COTRTS Library will soon be a member of collaborative theological networks and participate in inter-library loan programs, both nationally and internationally, enabling students and faculty to access resources beyond the local collection.
  • A proposed Institutional Repository (IR) will soon host digital versions of theses, faculty publications, and COTRTS research outputs, further contributing to the global academic community.

The COTR Theological Seminary Library is more than a collection of books—it’s the fulfillment of a vision to cultivate Christ-centered scholarship, nurture global leaders, and serve as a beacon of theological excellence.
