Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) Program
COTRTS-GO offers a hybrid model of the D.Min. program, enabling and equipping Christian leaders, pastors, lay leaders, and professionals to enhance their theological education with a professional doctoral degree.
The Objectives of the Program
- To provide opportunities to explore a particular area of interest in ministry in-depth.
- To enhance professional depth and direction, gain theological knowledge and understanding, and develop skills for relevant ministry and mission practices.
- To acquire knowledge, critical insights, and skills for leadership within the Church and the community/.
- To enhance the ability to think theologically/missiologically about contemporary ministry/mission challenges.
- To develop skills in high-level applied biblical research in a significant/ones-focused area of ministry/mission.
Program Overview
The COTRTS-GO D. Min. program, specializing in Missiology and Ministry, is designed for professionals, lay leaders, Christian leaders, pastors, and those who work in Christian NGOs to pursue higher theological studies within three to five years. This doctoral program ensures that students excel in academic and field research. It follows a hybrid model, combining online and on-campus training, allowing students to study while remaining in their workplace. They visit the campus to attend select modules and utilize library resources.
Eligibility
- Those with M.Div., BD, and M.Th. from ATA/SSC have at least a B+ grade or equivalent. Candidates with B and B- grades in MDiv/BD (ATA SSC) are required to do additional courses
(15 credits) and pass the qualifying exams with an overall grade of B+.
- A minimum of 5 years of ministry experience in Church or any ministry
- A lay leader making significant contributions to the church ministries and is interested in higher theological education.
- A sponsorship letter from their Church organization or family
- Passing Entrance interview
Graduation Requirements
- Appropriate demonstration of the expected graduate profile for this award.
- Successful completion of 45 credit units inclusive of a project or thesis of 50,000 words and
- An assessment of character and spiritual development that meets set requirements/standards and, ideally, some education training.
Course Requirement
The course comprises 45 credit hours, with ten modules and a thesis.
- Research Methodology (3 credits)
- Five Specialized courses (15 credits)
- One elective course (Reading course/independent research) (3 credits)
- Comprehensive Exam (3 credits)
- Teaching Practicum (3 credits)
- Thesis Proposal and Defense (3 credits)
- Thesis Writing and Viva Voce (15 credits)
Each module will have 120 learning hours, including class lectures, readings, writing papers, and discussions.
The thesis should be 45,000 to 50,000 words in length, with 1.5-line spacing. Students should contact their assigned Mentor/Supervisor and the Dean.

Accommodation and Library
Students are welcome to stay on the campus in Dorathota and take advantage of the library facilities at an affordable cost.
Program Design
During the first two years, there will be four residential sessions (each will be for 10 to 12 days), and the course details are as follows:
- Research Methodology
- Paper Presentation on Methodology
- Seminar and paper presentation on Contemporary Issues in Missiology/Ministry
- Paper presentation related to the area of study (Dissertation)
Candidates will undergo the exercise of presenting their dissertation proposal to a panel of experts (each candidate will have a separate doctoral committee) and work on the dissertation under the guidance of their mentors.
The residential (four-session) program will last two years, and the remaining two years will be used to complete the dissertation.
During the study, candidates will be asked to present papers to the M.Th. class and attend seminars, conferences, and consultations in ministry and missiology at both national and international levels.
Program Duration
A student who cannot complete their dissertation project within the stipulated four-year timeframe from the date of registration may apply for an extension to the Academic Dean, COTRTS, before the expiry of their registration, provided they have the endorsement of their Supervisor. The registration extension will depend on the decision of the Doctoral Committee. A student may be granted a maximum one-year extension. The extension fee will be collected in such cases as per the seminary’s policy.

Yearly Hostel fee of Rs 6000 (for the first two years- 2 visits – each 2 weeks duration)
Graduation Fee Rs. 3000/= (Final Year)
Transcript Fee Rs. 1500/= (Final year)
